Santorini: My Highlights

I highly recommend renting an ATV while in Santorini. Though there are public buses that are cheap and easy to navigate, I would still opt for an ATV if your budget allows. This allows you the autonomy to do whatever you want whenever you want.

Being on the ATV in santorini was one of my favorite things. Zooming through all the streets, wind in my hair, holding on to Tye, and basically parking wherever you want is a plus.

I didn't happen to capture a picture of our ATV but this is exactly what it looked like. Very helpful to have the carrier on the back for extra items like towels, and it comes with a lock! This photo was snagged from pinterest.

Catamaran Tour

A little spendy I’ll admit, but the best thing we choose to do in our whole vacation to Greece. This day excursion is very well organized, exhilarating and romantic. As Tye and I are water people and always down for an adventure, a day sailing on the sea is exactly our style. We signed up for the sunset tour which meant that we had a 5 hour sailing ride with sunset at the end.

Booking the tour, they picked us up right from our hotel in a small coach bus and proceeded to pick up a few others that were on the tour with us as we made our way down to the port. Here, we were greeted by our crew and welcomed on board. The catamaran’s are huge! Can easily hold 15 people. It never felt crowded. After some directions, we set sail with three stops along the way. Swimming at Red Beach, snorkeling at White Beach and then swimming in the hot springs of the volcano. They prepared dinner on board which was delicious array of food. Oh, and did I mention that it was all you can drink white wine?! Literally as much as you want, all trip long.

Under a blankets the crew handed out, Tye and I snuggled together, with sun kissed lips we sipped our wine and sailed into the sunset.

I could not recommend this more.

You must see all the beaches. Spend a day seeing all of them or one a day over the course of your stay. The volcano located through the area of Santorini has caused many minerals to arise and gorgeous colors and textures to emerge. Each beach also has its own style and ambiance. Wine Tasting

Though there are many places to choose from, the most well known wine tasting facility and vineyard is Santos Wines. Tye and I booked a meal here at sunset and it was one of the most memorable things we did. I highly recommend booking this as far out in advance as you can as Santos is very popular and regularly sells out. We each received a wine flight of 10 wines and shared a few difference finger food dishes. Santos built their seating area in tiers so it feels like everyone has a front row view of the sunset. You aren’t sitting behind anyone and you only have the view of the ocean and a direct line to see the sunset if you choose to go at that time - which I highly recommend.

Fira and Oia Shopping

Fira the capital of Santorini, and Oia the heart of the island both have great shopping. Alleys filled with store fronts and kiosks outside. We spend hours wandering the streets in these cities. Some of the islands best food, music, drinks, gelato and stores are located here.

Fish pedicures! I had to beg Tye to do this with me lol.
